A Story of Success
Serving as a contract archivist, Broadnax improved strategic planning and workflow efficiencies for the Converse corporate archive. Over the span of two years, Broadnax cataloged over 3,000 items, coordinated the digitization of 250 audiovisual assists, and advocated for the utilization of a reference tracking system and digital asset management system.
Turning a New Page
Clients often approach Rememory Consulting with a general idea of what they need, and this project was no different. We were able to jump right in with our expertise and really helped the Kaminer Foundation begin to think more about their family archives and potential repositories for permanent housing after assessing their 2000 image photo archive. We are proud to have been part of the process.
An Innovative Solution
We approached this project carefully, as it was our very first undertaking of this scale. We studied our client’s business processes through records management interviews and completed an inventory to create a comprehensive archival plan. We loved working with Groton, and look forward to collaborating together on many more successful projects in the future.
Documenting the Now has a strong commitment to prioritizing ethical practices when working with social media content, especially in terms of collection and long-term preservation. Since 2019, both Neal and Broadnax have served as workshop facilitators engaging communities in dialogue on documentation practices and archiving.
America's Black Holocaust Museum, founded in 1988 by James Cameron, and located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a memorial museum dedicated to the genocide of Black lives in America. The museum was founded by Cameron to memorialize his survival of a lynching attempt in 1930. Through consultation, in 2017, Neal provided guidance on best practices for archival preservation of ABHM storage materials and artifacts, and created an organizational staffing plan.
Home Library Collection
Walter Huntley founder and former CEO of Huntley & Associates, was our very first home library client. In accounting for each book through catalog records and providing rearrangement to his collection of over 1600 books, we improved the order and accessibility of this personal library. This service included creating thematic groupings unique to strengths of this personal collection.
